Leone Clasp Waist Beads
Description: This collection was inspired by trade beads also know as Christmas beads because of their resemblance to Christmas lights. Beads in general have a very important place in African culture and they were originally used as a form of trading currency (even during the Slave trade).
So wearing beads is often associated with wealth and prosperity, but also a reminder of our rich history and the value of our ancestors. These waist beads are named after the Sierra Leonian currency the Leone.
Our Clasp waist beads come with a gold-plated stainless steel lobster clasp and 3-inch chain for adjustability. They are sized in inches. The size range (i.e 28-31 in.) is due to the 3-inch chain.
To choose the correct size, measure where you would like the beads to sit. You can download our printable measuring tape here.
